What is the SET Exam?

The SET Exam or Symbiosis Entrance Test is the national-level exam conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University. Candidates who intend to pursue undergraduate programmes at Symbiosis International (Deemed) University should emerge successful in this exam, conducted by 12 institutes affiliated with Symbiosis. The undergraduate programmes include BBA, BCA, and B.Sc Hons.

 

The duration of the SET exam is 60 minutes. The candidate has to attempt questions in different Sections, i.e., Analytical and Logical Reasoning, General English, General Knowledge and Quantity Aptitude. To qualify for the exam, the candidate must satisfy the stipulated eligibility criteria. Once confident that the eligibility criteria have been fulfilled, the candidate has to register for the exam and fill out an application form with personal, educational, and contact details. Payment for the exam is the final process.

 

Participating in the SET exam is not required for candidates seeking admission to Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts (SSLA). They can apply for the programmes offered by SSLA through the official website i.e., set-test.org.

SET Exam Application Process

Aspiring candidates can apply for the SET Exam by visiting the university's official website, i.e., set-test-org. It should be noted that both the examination and application fees must be paid. The available payment modes are Credit Card, Debit Card, Demand Draft, or any other accepted mode. The application process for the SET Exam involves the following:

 

Registration

  • Access the official website of the University, i.e., set-test.org.
  • Choose the ‘Register Here’ option.
  • In the window that appears, click on the ‘Register’ button.
  • You will be directed to a registration form. Fill out the registration form.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the latest passport-size photograph.
  • SET ID will be generated.
  • The login credentials will be sent to the candidates' registered email.
  • The next step is filling out the application form.

 

Steps to Fill SET Exam Application Form

Post registration, fill out the application form with the required details in the relevant field.

  • Provide personal, communication and educational details.
  • Choose the examination centre from the three choices provided.
  • Choose the course/institution and book the slot.
  • Ensure all details provided in the application form are accurately entered. If the information provided is false, the University can cancel the application or the admission at any time.
  • Applying for up to two exams is permitted.
  • Once the slot is booked, you can move to payment.
  • All categories have the same application fees, usually ranging between INR 1900-2000/-.
  • Payment can be made online through any of the available gateway options or via Demand Draft from any nationalised banks drawn in favour of ‘Symbiosis Test Secretariat’, payable at Pune.
  • Upon completing the payment, click on the ‘Submit’ option.
  • Candidates must keep a copy of the application form for future reference.

 

Note: If you want to make any changes to the SET application form, you can do so before the last date of form submission. However, the centre preference/city and the admission category can not be changed once submitted the first time.

SET General Pattern

SET General is a computer-based online test. The questions are objective, with four options combined with a written ability test. The SET General Exam pattern is given below. Study the pattern well for better preparation.

SET General is the qualifying phase. Based on the score in the SET General Exam, the candidate will be selected for the personal interview. The candidate must also take a 30-minute written ability test, which will be evaluated only after being selected for further admission.

SET SLAT Exam

SET SLAT Exam will contain 60 questions with 1 mark each spread over 5 Sections. It will be an online exam in the computer-based test (CBT) mode. The candidate has to answer 60 questions in 1 hour.

SET Exam Admit Card

Symbiosis International University (Deemed University) will issue admit cards to all candidates who have filled out and submitted the application form. The Admit Card is available on the University's official website, set-test.org, and the candidates can download it with their user ID and password. The card is available for download until the date of the entrance test. It is mandatory to carry the Admit Card to the Exam Centre, and without it, the candidate cannot take the exam.

Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for the SET Exam should know guidelines to be well-prepared before the examination day to avoid any last-minute setback. Some of the essential guidelines are given below:

  • The candidate should download the Admit Card and have it ready before exam day.
  • They should affix a passport-size photograph (not older than three months) in the space provided in the Admit Card.
  • Candidates appearing for two exams should carry two separate Admit Cards.
  • They should get the Admit Card authenticated by the Invigilator. The authenticated Admit Card should be carefully preserved till the entire admission process is completed.
  • Only a colour printout of the Admit Card will be accepted so students should carry a colour printout of the admit card to the examination centre.
  • Students should avoid carrying mobile phones, calculators, watch calculators, digital watches with inbuilt calculators, alarm clocks, and any other electronic or digital devices as they are not permitted inside the exam centre.
  • Students found carrying any of the devices will be disqualified and will not be permitted to write the exam.

Candidates appearing for the SET Exam need to carry some essential documents to establish their identity and their eligibility to attend the exam. They will have to carry any of the photo IDs like a Voter’s ID Card, Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Passport, etc, which will serve as their identity proof. An Admit Card issued by the University upon submission of the application form for the exam will necessarily have to be carried. SET SITEEE Selection Process

After checking the results announced online on the official website of the University, qualifying students should report to the allotted venue for verification of documents on the day of counselling. They should carry both original and attested copies of the essential documents along with two passport-size photographs. The candidates who qualify in the SITEE Exam will be given preference for counselling over the ones who qualify based on JEE Main and MHT CET exams.

SET General Selection Process

Candidates who complete the aptitude test and written ability test will qualify for the Personal Interview. Appearing for the aptitude test, written ability test, and personal interview/GD is compulsory for all candidates to gain admission to the undergraduate programmes. SET SLAT Selection Process
